HI, it's Amberly... i got to do the blog a lot this year. so, we just took a spelling quiz and are about to do our last reading quiz. This is the last friday of the year, and i think the year went by fast. Maybe it's just me. Mr. Walden is being a BIG slacker today, he took the day off! Our lighthouse leader is gone too!We should be shearing our compound/complex machines today, and reciting the preamble to the constition. Yesterday we were in a code red lockdown!Witch means we sat on the floor for an hour, fun! Overall, we had a fun year, next week is the last week of school, field day, and summer break. Conferances are coming...I'm scared.

Hi I'm Hannah today is a blue day. We are done with OUR book holes and are having are last meeting now. We are having field day next week in the morning and are definitely going to get wet. We are going to call it our MC Fish plant. On the bright side we got to go to the Indians game and that cheered us up, but we are still sad about MC Fishtank. Hi my name is sydney. We are writing our penpals as morningwork. Next week we have a fieldtrip. It is to a baseball game. Then the next week after that we get to meet our penpal as a fieldtrip. For the next 3 weeks on Wednesday we have a computer test called NWEA. You get as long as you need.I got finished early with my penpal letter and my job is to write a blog post this week some time. We get to color after we are done writing. It is quiet besides the pencils moving. This is my first blog post but I think it is great. When we are finished we read our books. Our class is reading HOLES BY: LOUIS SACHAR and it is a realy great book.We just had recess and I played football. A kid named Sam fell in the mud and got on his side.The players on my team were realy great.I think we won but it was realy close so if not we all did great.After playing we all say good game in the hall when we get a drink of water.We are getting ready to go to Art, Spanish,and music.

Hi, this is jaylah and it is the week were everyone is happy that ISTEP is over but we need to look forward to NWEA. We need to make our goals because if you get in the bugg club then you can have the chance to win a ipod shuffle. Another thing we are happy about is that we are going on two field trips in about two weeks and one of them we will be going to a indians game and the other we will be meeting our pen pals in bloomington and we will probably all be tired at the end of the day. One sad thing is that one of our class mates megan has left the school because she is moving and we will all miss her so much.In math we are working on working backward and it is a littel tricky but once you get used to it , it is pretty easy.In language we are working on compare and contrast.Welll that is all for today.

Hey it's me Lexi. We are back from a long springbreak. We have spelling words this week they are not hard at all the hardest they get is ''thoughtful''.People have not been doing their jobs so Mr.Walden is going to start taking tickets. Last week on Friday Mrs. Alford was not here so I had to help clean the gym. Mr.Walden sent home a book catalog. Please, if you are going to order do it online with the code that was sent home with your child on Friday. The more people buy online the more free books we get for our classroom. We owe a big thank you to the party helpers we had that planned our party before springbreak. I know this blog is boring. It's Monday what do expect. The Girl Scouts Troop is doing something called ''Can Mrs.Pryor in her Office''.We need your child to bring in canned food items in to their classroom and there they will be tallied. The Girl Scout troop will be buying the class a pizza party to thank them for all their hard work. The Weekend Packs(the can mrs.pryor in her office) thanks you for your support. Hello,my name is Sam S. and today we had another debate on if bottled water is better than tap water. We all did really great and I had a good statement, however, there was a funny part where Mr. Walden went up against Savanna. Savanna had a great statement also and she won that debate, she made an action statement that she changelled all of us to cut down and reduce, reuse, recycle as the saying goes. Earlier from 8:30 A.M. to 9:25 A.M. we used our reading books again, man, we didn't use those in a while. The story we read was "Shlemiel's Journey to Warsaw" or something like that, and Shlemiel was kind of a shlemiel. It talked about a chelm 1 and a chelm 2 and how Shlemiel didn't have his wife and children in chelm 2 because the real Shlemiel leaved at the beginning. Our science fair experiments were totally off the hook, I was #59 and I hate that number, but also, a lot of people did popcorn popping for there experiments, including me, and I mean A LOTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!! I enjoyed writing this blog to all of you, it was SPECTACULAR!

Hi my name is Isaiah. Today in class we are finishing our Bridge to Terabitha Jeopardy quizzes. We finished science fair last week and it went very good. Every one did good. All the judges were nice- i think ms.lutz was the nicest.

Today band has spanish, choir has art, and general music has music. Thursday we finished the book and the movie Bridge to Terabitha. Every one liked it-- at least i think every one liked it. Im pretty sure every one liked it. I think we dont have any home work tonight but im not sure. Its snowing again i hope we dont miss any more days so we dont have to make the days up. So we will still have all of our spring break any ways thats all for today.

Hi, this is Jaylah one of our blog writers for the week. Today is Monday, January 24,2011. This week we are most likely going to get a good start of the week after a three day weekend. This week's LightHouse leader is Brady Mead. Last week we had a NWEA test and only about half the class was there. Last week was a very crazy week everyone was shadowing and every one was at home sick lots of kids had fevers or just didn't feel good. Wednesday we have another NWEA test so have to get ready for it and I am pretty sure it is language and I think people are going to get good scores on that one. Everyone needs to start working on resarch reports for the science fair they are due Feb.2nd. That is all for right now.

Hi. My name is Alex, and I'm the blogwriter. This week we had THREE tests this week! The tests were: Science, Math, and Social Studies. If your child was getting bad grades in any of these subjects, they had a chance to bring their grades up. Now I need to hope for the best. (I need my Social Studies grade to come up.)
If you don't see your child's agenda, they will have to write a two page about responsibility. Also, if your child forgets their homework or doesn't pay attention to dress code, they have to write a two page paper also. Today there's going to be something called Hot Shot Blitz which is basketball, and a teacher that gets a pie thrown in there face!
Mr. Walden gets it thrown in his face! This day has been really fun for the class. Well, fun for me.

I know that you parents that are reading this remember the day that your best friend in the world, the one you can trust with your life, promised that she would play with you at Recess and then just ditches you and leaves you hanging on the wire. I dislike when people do that especially when it is your best friend. Today Mr. Walden played football like he does any other day that he is hyped up and ready to go. Mr. Walden is a guy that if he is not feeling good you better not be a silly person at the wrong time or you might get in trouble. At Recess it is so fun!!!
Mr. Walden keeps saying that he will bring in a fish for 2 Weeks and it has not happened. If you read this plaese comment for Mr. Walden to read to encourage him to bring in the fish tank. We all get really excited when he says that and it does not happen. It is 3:15. Mr. Walden is giving out tickets like crazy because we are having a book auction next week ............ well that is what he said. Hi my name is akelah i am the light house leader for this week. Today we took 3 tests in 3 different subject. We are very close to fall break it is next week we are off for about 10 days off!!!! The third blog of the year !!!!! Hi, my name is Lexi. So far this year has been great. Mr.Walden is so nice !!!!! Today we are takig two tests. We are taking a math test and a reading test. We have a noooooooooooooooooooiiiiisy bulldozer out side our window. You can see a picture below of what they are doing to our beautiful school. I mean our school is already beautiful as it is why do they have to make not beautiful with showing bulldozers in the morning when all the parents come in. Mr.Walden has a filletO'fish and we get to hear it every now and then. When we take a test like right now we hear the bulldozers beeep during a test. If you dont go to this school yet and you are reading my blog look me up on our school website and get the addrress to our school and come in and cheek it out. I am in the last class room in the hall next to the music room. There is a closet beetween the music room and our room. The kidergarteners sing we are going on a bear hunt and every day at 9:55 we hear a loud scream that means that they found the bear but not literally. I sit next to a guy name Hunter Kennedy. We do math sheets and we are timed we get two minutes to do 60 problems. I did it!!!!!!!!! Mr.Walden writes the word recess and if we lose all of the letters we lose recess!! Hi I'm Hannah today is picture day and I'm not so happy about it. During school we have started reading The Abucus Contest.In social studies we are trying to memorize the fifty states.This morning we did a crossword puzzle on them and yesterday we did a worksheet naming them. Also we have been practicing multiplcation and have made a multiplcation chart. Oh and there is a bulldozer outside our window they are building a rain garden. And tomorow they are having a party for the lighthouse leaders. We have just started centers for math fact families and games. And in October we are going to start band choir and general music. Hi my names Tyler and I haven't wrote the blog for a while now. We just did our second test yesterday for N.W.E.A. It was math , our class did awesome. Which was good we were all happy including Mr.Walden. We gave ourselves a round of applause. If you get 2 out of 3 you are in a drawing for an Ipod shuffle. Many people are already there and even if you only get one you still go in a drawing for a lunch of your choice. The way we keep track of what we get is called the bug club you put your goals on it and if you get your goal or go over it you get highlighted with a different color. Readings orange Maths blue I don't know what Language Arts is because we haven't taken the test yet thats all for now.

hi my name is jazmine and on the 26th of May were going on our field trip to meet our penpals then were going to the science museme. Were going to have sooooo much fun and we're going to bloomington to meet them so yah were going to have soo much fun. Hi. I'm Billy and I haven't wrote the blog in a while. We just started NWEA and our first test will be on Wednesday. We are reading books in groups. We are reading Island of the Blue Green Fish Creatures,The Cay,Sign of the Beaver,and Caddie Woodlawn. We will be going to Grandview School to meet our buddies. We will be doing math groups for what we don't get. In Social Studies we are taking a citizenship test what immigrants have to take when they come here to become a citizen. Hi it's me Nathan again. i'm happy to be writing the blog. Now i'm going to tell you what we have been doing in class. In reading we're back to our literature books again. we have The sign of the beaver, The cay, Hatchet, Caddie Woodlawn, and Island of the Blue Dolphins. In science we just took a test it was about Outerspace and i thought if you studied you would have done good. In Gym we learned a new game called toppleball and it was fun we went outside and played it. In art we're working on these cylinders with clay and we put designs on them to look really cool. In math were working on how to divide decimals. i think the first day our class didn't get it, but when we went over it we got it. We're taking another test in spelling this Friday. In social studies were learning how were lucky to be born in the united states and its going good. I think were all looking forward to our field trip. i've got to go-- bye.

Hi,My name is Carla,and this is my first time writing the blog.Today's the last day for ISTEP! I-Step has been very complicated for some students,for the others it's really easy.What we've been doing in ISTEP is Math,L.A,and Social Studies.There's two sessions of all of them.
In reading,we're on chapter 10.The books that we're reading are Hatchet,The Sign of the Beaver,Caddie Woodlawn,The Cay,and Island of the Blue Dolphins.We have these reflection papers that we do every night after we are done reading.Mr.Walden calls the Island of the Blue Dolfins,"Island of the Blue-Green Turtles" Or something like that.

Hey, this is Jarrett. this is what...my 10,000th time writing the blog?
So in art we are making these cool clay cylinders to make signatures. People used them for thousands of years.History lesson: In the olden times,people had cylinders strung around their neck for two purposes. The first was to sign "receipts" and other household items that they bought. The second was to ward off evil spirits.
Also, in band, we are playing 3 songs,two of which are VERY hard. The easiest would have to be America the Beatiful. At first we were horrible, but we improved. The hardest would be our newest, The Tempest. It's very fast paced, and Fire Dance, our other hard one isn't quite as fast, but still hard. A few people (including me) are thinking what would happen if we combined The Tempest and Fire Dance. I think it would be the BEASTLIEST SONG OF ALL TIME, but very,very fast. And the parts for certain instruments are hard. The clarinets have to repeat the same note for like 30 four-beat measures with no breath marks or rests!
Also, Mr.Walden is going to make our subjects a bit more fun to learn. Supposedly, we're going to have our subjects like Jeopardy. ( Starts to hum theme song) What else is going on... Weather is warming up, so hardly any more jackets... Although with warmer weather means rain... I don't know why, but I always liked rain. Still do. So, along with the Jeopardy thing, Mr.Walden plans to take it easy on us for getting in trouble. We can still get refferalls and such, but no more recess taken away! Woohoo! (insert all possible happy smile face emoticons here) Also for the those of you who recognize the title...

Hi this is Tyler Locander and I'll be writing the blog for today! Today has been going great. Right now is D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything And Read) time. Last night it rained so we can't go outside for recess...... Yesterday alot of people didn't do their reading or reflection paper. Today in band we got to watch a movie (it was funny). The weekend is finally here! Yesterday Mr. Walden left at lunch. We had a subsitute his name was Mr. Mayhew. We can't wait until we get to go outside for recess agian. Today in P.E. we're having free choice Friday. Free choice Friday is every two weeks. It is where we go around and pick what we want(for exp. knockout, hula hooping, jump roping, and some other things i can't think of). Yesterday the blog was hilarious!

G'day mates! Everyone is finally glad it's spring and just look at the lead and ink blooming below! Too many pencils if you think about it. Sam must have alot of harvesting to do this year. (Plays "Combine Harvester")

Though Sam should have not had these (just way too many) it's still hilarious :). Please give us your opinion on it! Even though it's a few weeks past spring break... welcome back! But don't blame me for not knowing when we last did the blog. I don't really keep track of it.

We have been working on ratios in math and (thankfully) got finished with parent teacher conferences. We are doing persuasive writing in language and working with supply and demand in social studies.

And getting our energy out by going outside for recess. So don't really worry, (well maybe a little.)

As we all know Meghan Sommers is holding a book from the book fair. It has been happening this week (April 2nd -April 9th.) They have lots of books and small writing materials for school. and some you have to take home. This week we did not have a spelling test or pretest but we will have one next week because we've been working on the words for next week's test. The words we've been working on are contractions: it's, they'd, I'll, and conjunctions, pronouns and verbs. Making sure for the parents: we have had very little home work. In social studies we have been doing stuff about prices, demand, and supply. You should ask your children about those words they will tell you a lot. Science is usual --nothing much but we did start a new chapter. Some math home work not much. We haven't had much reading. Friday we had a ""End of the 3rd Quarter Party"!! The party was for certificates for A/ B hono roll,tardy slips/days not here. Well, that's it for this week!!! BYE!

Its me again,Lorenzo P. The class is doing penpal letters to our penpals in Bloomington. Later on, we're going to Bloomington if the class stays good. So now were learning about life that can get hard,budgeting. So we're practicing using money in our life. No were not using real money.Were also doing BookFair.There are two books I want, but its kinda long so I'm going to tell.Were learning about circuts in science. Its kinda easy and a little tricky FOR ME, but Im still learning. Also in music class, the band class is learning something hard. Its called Fire Dance by Douglas Akey. You may of heard or not. Its long and fast and hard. Plus the song has one hundred measures. Im running out of things to say. So this my third time doing the blog and its fun its just hard to think of something. In gym, its survivor week. Its a thing were you can get bandannas thats has a picture of your team and compete other teams. But don't think your will win if you have a good day beacause you have most of the rest of the school on your team and they might have a bad day. Back from Spring Break!

After spring break already? To me it went by too fast. We're getting to the process of writing a persuasive letter to the president. We all get to write whatever we want to him as long that it is in the persuasive form of the letter. I think it's going to be fun. Hopefully he will read them. Mr. Walden the coolest teacher of all time. He said that The President reads only 10 letters a day. It's a small chance but we're all hoping that he will. Cross your fingers. Something else in social studies : we're learning about the economy and that you need to budget your money or you will run out. In math we're learning about ratios and percentages. In art we are doing this religous cylinder roll. You make a cylinder out of clay and when it drys you mak designs in it and were going to roll it on a flat piece of clay and the design will come off onto the clay it will look really cool. Mrs. Stuckey showed us one that she made it looked awesome. Thats it really. talk to you next time.

So, this is my second time writing the blog. I wrote once waaaaaay back in like the first quarter. Now off with the cheesy intro. We just got back from our kindergarten buddies.( Actually maybe not just now, depends on how late Mr. Walden will post this. =P ) I was rather late today, and Mrs. Jeremy told me that everyone was in the gym. Why you may ask? Well we had a really cool Irish Dancing event. ( No, we didn't dance!) We had a school for Irish Dancing come and do some really cool Irish dances. We are doing some extra time for our state projects right now. (Again, maybe not right now. See above.) We are also practicing our songs( and listening...See above.) for our America concert. OH! We have concerts on Monday and Tuesday. Monday is for Band, and Tuesday is our America concert. And in Art we are also doing this Calendar Contest thing again! It is really fun. The winner gets like $200! We are all working our hardest on that contest. Hmm... What else is there to tell? Oh and if you know your dates, you know what today is!

Spring Time

It's me Lorenzo again. It's getting towards spring. Wooooo. We're meeting our buddies next week. Were doing something with the buddies,but I don't know. This week, the class is learning measurements like cups, pints, gallons, etc. Its still kinda cool, so bring a jacket with you to school. In science, we didnt learn about science yesterday, instead we ran. Its was a big race. It's was a girls race and a boys race. Chad beat all the boys and Sydney beat all the girls. Then it was Chad vs Sydney. The person who won is..........Chad. Good job to Sydney and Chad. Chad had won. I would call it Race Of The Century. Also during the week in social studies, we were talking about making laws thats should be fair, specific, and most important, has to do with the Constitution. So we made laws of our own to the class. Most of the class said veto(not pass or doesn't like the law)to most of our laws. Mr.Walden said that if he doesn't say veto,the law is going to stay for a week. Gym, two days ago, we ran 28 laps(a mile)around the gym. Yes it was very hard to do, it was still for your health. If you didn't know, we read a book called Shiloh. I don't know if you read or not, its is a good book in my opinion. So bring jackets and say wooo for spring.

Hi! I am Tyler Lo and I will be doing the blog today. Yesterday band students had a performance I think it went great. Here are the songs we did Bingo Polka, Yuki (snow), and Alpha Overture. We combined with the advanced band to do Siberian Sleighride. Advanced band also did Final Impact, Bruce Canyon Overture, and a couple more that I can't remember. Today in music class we talked about the performance and shirts. Tonight kindergarten and 1st grade have a performance. Tommorrow night 2nd, 3rd, and 4th have a performance. Christmas is coming up! OUR FIELD TRIP! & Food Drive

We all went to the Ruth Lilly's health center. We went on November 17th which was Tuesday. Some parts were gross when they were talking about our body parts and babies. They were also talking about how we have changes in our voices and attitudes. It took a long time to get in the rooms because alot of other people were there too. We weren't there very long like our other field trips were back then but it was worth it! We were there for 3 whole hours!! We had a great time. On Wednesday we made cards for our friend Alex. Mrs. Welsh is going to send one every day of the week!!! We can't wait to see him again! We have been doing a food drive for people in need . So if you can just have your child bring in a store purchased item like a can food or a box of mac-and-cheese box. It has to have ingredients on it !!

In Social Studies we're in chapter 7 , it is starting to get pretty cold so PLEASE bring a jacket. Nov. 26-27 we have Thanksgiving Vacation.

Hi this is Jazmine. Today is a Monday and what's happening in school right now is Katie just got back from Florida and we're getting her caught up with math and reading and every thing so anyway so we're learning so far in math is how to divide decimals. So in reading we're doing liturature circals. So last week we might with our kindergarten buddys again but I wasn't with them a couple weeks ago though so last week we= all of us even our kindergarten buddys got to go in the woods at our school and they all told us that they never been in the woods before so found a bunch of pretty,colorfull leaves the colors we saw was green,red,sandy gray,orind,brown,burnt leafes,rosey red,yellow. So anyway so we all got to show every one what kind of leaves we all got I picked two and one of mine was burnt and so I showed it to Zach and we both thought it was eather racoons paw print's or a cats paw print or a dogs paw print but I also piced the pirttiest one out of all of them I pick one that was a valintines color wich is a dark redish pink it was really pritty and my partners both piced the other pritty leafes jenna picked a big one and a small one they all were pritty but we don't have any pictures of them all thought but they all was cool. So when it was time to line up the kindergarterners lined up perfectly and we lined up badly but we still had fun though so we went back into our room and put our coghts away and lined

Hello my name is Taylor.We've been working on factors this week. Were almost done with our reading books. Were reading Island, Dive, Swindle, Liar Liar Pants on Fire. Anyway We have 2 tests on Friday. Those tests are math factors and social studies the 13 colonies. I can name all of the 13 colonies, but I won't to because I just don't want to. We had to write 5-vocab words that we didn't understand in our reading books and write it out to see what it meant. Weer gonna switch books in reading on Monday. Dive is gonna read Island, Island is gonna read Dive, Swindle's gonna read Liar Liar Pants on Fire and you know the rest. The whole class is getting better in multiplication and in division. We are finishing our penpal letters. We are having a practice quiz in math. We will have the real chapter test sometime this week. I think we will do good on it. We have not been doing anything in reading so there is no homework. Anybody who has passed all their competencies doesn't have to bring in instruments,and no practice sheet. The kids who aren't done 75 minutes practice sheet. Everybody could've passed the spelling test if they studied. But half didn't pass. I regret that I have to do the blog now because I am running out of ideas. We have a birthday today or a birthday party today. Parents there are candy-grams for sale. You will get a sheet of paper about it. Aleast give them $0.50 for candy-grams. We have been doing outlines for chapters 4 and 5 in social studies.

This week we have been doing letters for Mr. Ehrgott like business letters. I think that this week has been a so, so week because some people got on yellow or red but no bickering or nobody has been sent to Mr. Mcfadden. It has been a great fun week because Mr. Walden has been nice to everyone ever since school has started BUT NOT HAPPY ABOUT PEOPLE ON YELLOW AND RED. Mr. walden has been pushing us on our math flashcards. He wants us to know our multiplication facts by the end of the 2009. We have upcoming news like book fairs and book order forms for schoolastic are coming home on friday/ tonight. Our order forms for our book fair is coming home after our fallbreak is over.BOO!!!!!!.

This week we have been working on algebra in math. We are writing in Language Arts also. We all have been writing to our penpals it is realy interesting. And it is fun beacause we don't know what there going to write back. We are also geting along reaLly well. And our Light House Leader is Katie. I think Katie is going to be a awsome Light House Leader beacause she is always nice to people and she dosen't move her clip. Our class has a green box that if you want to put an interesting fact you write it down and the teacher reads them to the class.Every time we gvet a new Light House Leader they type our class blog. Welcome back to Mr.Walden's fifth grade class blog. In reading class we are learning poems and what they mean.We are working a Robert Frost poem.We started final draft for our penpals letters and also we are learnig how to write business letters. In science class we are haveing a test on the heart and how the body works.

Tuesday we did a study guide and studied in class everyone should do good.We are working on algebra and variables and as we move along we do harder and harder problems but they are getting easier and easier for us. The class has been doing good haven't any big class problems or talks lately. That is a good thing.

Welcome to another blog writing today is Monday. If you try to get on power school, it is still shut down because the server crashed at the high school. In writing we have penpals. We are learning how to write a letter and what questions to ask them. They are in Utah right by the Great Salt Lake.

In math we are still doing algebra its pretty hard because this morning we had a paper on algebra and really nobody could do it. In Science we are learning about the sequence of blood flow. We just had a test about it last week. In Social Studies I dont know if were still learning about about Marco Polo,Leif Ericsson, and all the other famous explorors because we just had a test about them and I think that that the whole class did great.

Welcome to another blog writing. Today is Friday. If you have not yet heard, power school is down for now. In language arts we are not doing poems any more ,now we are writing to a school in Utah. We are learning about headings, salutations, the body of the letter, the closing, and signature.
In math we are doing algebraic expressions.That is pretty easy.
In science we are learning about the human body especially the heart and blood flow.
In social studies we are learning about famous travelers like Marco Polo, Zheng He,Vasco de Gama, Eric the Red, Leif Ericsson (if you did not already know he is Eric the Red's son that is why his last name is Ericsson), and Amerigo Vespucci.
Tyler and Frank are back in school and feeling better.We had every one in school today!!!Have a good weekend !!!!

Welcome again to another blog writing. We are trying to get people who have fallen behind at the same speed. We need to make sure that all students have their agendas and that it is signed. Also we are trying to do harder algebra. We are learning about variables and how to use math in real life. We also have a new student named Carla Golder. She is fitting right in with the class.

In Language Arts we are still doing poems, but they are math poems.In class we made our own math poems.We will post some poems we made. We are finally done with N.W.E.A tests. Overall we did pretty good in N.W.E.A tests. Some scores went down some went up.We are hoping next time all scores will go up.

We will also post some videos of our interviews for social studies and we will post links to other websites for we can practice multiplication so we get better.

Today we will post our haikus. Please vote for your favorite poem--- the person with the most votes gets 5 bonus classroom tickets! (please vote fairly not just for your own kid thank you).

Welcome to Mr.Walden's fifth grade class blog. We are probably the funniest class in our school. We love to have fun, be crazy and be creative. We have just recently started on poems, algebra, and our blog of course. On our first day of school this year Mr.Walden said , "I hope this year we have fun and be ourselves." Our making of our blog has been making our whole class very anxious about it. Mr.Walden has been teaching us poems and said that we are very good at it too. We all think Mr.Walden is very funny and nice. He always jokes around with us. We have been doing little interviews with the class in Social Studies this week and last. We got the choice of doing Eric the Red , Leif Ericsson , Marco Polo , Mansa Musa , Zheng He , Prince Henry , or Vasco de Gama. We have a lot of fun with that. We have also had a lot of fun with poems. Robert Frost is one of the famous poets we have read about, Emily Dickinson, Langston Hughes and random ones from regular poem books. We love our class!
